BF Physician

Is your physician breastfeeding-friendly?

1. Does your physician and the office staff appear to be knowledgeable about breastfeeding?

2.  Does your physician’s office environment promote breastfeeding?

3. Does your physician and the office staff encourage pregnant women to breastfeed?

4.  Does your physician and the office staff provide breastfeeding information and materials to pregnant women and new mothers that is obtained from noncommercial sources?

5. Does your physician and the office staff provide information on local breastfeeding support groups to pregnant and new mothers?

6. Does your physician have an IBLCE certified lactation consultant on staff or on contract to provide breastfeeding consultations and follow up calls to new mothers?

7. Does your physician and the office staff try to protect the breastfeeding relationship as much as possible when a mother or a baby has problems?
