Dell Diamond - Round Rock Express Game

Centx HMHB members reported on May 10, 2006:
Last weekend, a mom was asked at a Round Rock Express game to leave her seat and to breastfeed elsewhere. The VP has since apologized and offered to educate his staff.

This was followed by a member report:
The RR Express story actually was resolved in a very positive way. The manager provided the breastfeeding family with private box seats (not the bathroom) for the rest of the game, apologized, and is now aware of Texas law endorsing a woman's right to breastfeed in public. He has offered the mother free tickets & is very supportive of breastfeeding. He said in the future if anyone complains he will suggest that the complainer relocate so the bf family is not inconvenienced.

This copy of an email from the General Manager of the Round Rock Express was then circulated: 

Natalie,
Thank you for your e-mail and for your interest in the Round Rock Express.

We learned a valuable lesson over the past couple of days and we have now established a policy for breast feeding mothers. In the near future, we will be posting to our website the following policy regarding breastfeeding mother:

"The Round Rock Express welcomes mothers who want to breastfeed in the Dell Diamond. The Round Rock Express have privacy areas available or mothers may breastfeed in any public location of the Dell Diamond. All members of the Express staff will support the needs of breastfeeding mothers in this regard."

We apologize for any inconvenience we caused anyone regarding this situation and look forward to having families in the Central Texas area enjoying Round Rock Express games this season.
